Jacob Houston Hargett was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received his B.A. in 2004.  In addition, he went on to receive his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Mr. Hargett attended Loyola University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.

 

While attending Loyola, Mr. Hargett served as the President of Loyola's Trial Advocacy Program and was a member of the Loyola Trial Advocacy National Team.  Mr. Hargett was also inducted into the National Order of the Barristers and was awarded the Blue Williams Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy in 2009.

 

Mr. Hargett is currently a member of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.  He is licensed to practice in all Louisiana State Courts as well as in all United States District Courts for Louisiana.  Mr. Hargett is also admitted to practice before the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
