DAVID J. CALOGERO was born in New Orleans on June 19, 1957 and resided there until 1989 when he relocated his family and law practice to Lafayette, Louisiana. He received his preparatory education at Jesuit High School, graduating in 1975. He attended Tulane University and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. In 1983 he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree, also from Tulane. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Calogero served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gerald P. Fedoroff, Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
Mr. Calogero is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association (Insurance, Negligence and Workers' Compensation Section) and the Lafayette Parish Bar Association where he served on its Board of Directors from 2003 until 2005. He also served as its Bench-Bar Conference Chairman in 2003. His professional affiliations include the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Louisiana Association of Self Insured Employers. Mr. Calogero has served as a Master in the American Inn of Court of Acadiana and he frequently accepts appointments to serve as Judge Pro Tempore of Lafayette City Court. His civic activities have included membership on the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors.
An ardent trial attorney, Mr.Calogero maintains a civil litigation practice devoted to the representation of insurance companies, corporations and small businessesin the fields of workers' compensation, insurance defense, premises liability and products liability. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
